Hey Dear Reddit Community,
I want to give clg.eu feedback because i'm always a big fan of them.And thought maybethis community can help me to improve this feedback because we all to see great plays on competetive scene which clg.eu is the one of the big star at this.
I'll try to write everything on my mind and to try cover everything.
Bans/Picks
This part was the best what clg.eu did at start. They were banning champions who they cant play against.For example Froggen couldnt play efficiently against ryze so their first ban was always ryze. Secondly they were banning a fast jungler who steal buffs. Because Froggen plays blue dependent champions except Kennen. But when Froggen picks Kennen Yellowpete picks a blue dependent ad carry like Corki (You may say Corki isn't blue dependent but with blue buff Corki is more efficient). As the third ban they were banning a special champions who is main for the enemy team. They recently gave to do it. Now they are banning nautilius, urgot etc. So they gave up the most succesfull and compatible banning tactics with the team. I think all the lost games were lost at banning/picking (at least i succesfully estimated %100 )
About picks like i wrote on facebook to wickd's wall, against TSM picking shen everytime was a very bad idea.Because Dyrus can play all the shen counters. Shen is a great pick who can do split push but to do split push succesfully you have to take turrets early down and have to ban nocturne which clg.eu didnt. And i'm watching your all team streams and i can say you never take early turrets because if doesnt fit with froggen's and wickd's great farming ability. I know this, you know this, please don't ignore this.
Secondly, picking Maokai 7 times. Maokai is a very strong jungle with early ganks and anti aoe ultimate. But slightly slow and early blue dependent jungler. I'm ok with Maokai pick but not for CLG.eu . Because Froggen plays late game ap carries which are Anivia, AP Kog, Karthus and early squishy Ahri. All champs that Froggen plays are blue dependent, early weak/quishy heroes. While having them playing with a unsecured, open to counter jungle,slow Maokai isn't a good pick. Maokai was a great pick while SNoopeh playing for SK Gaming, because Ocelote was a aggressivemid player which Froggen isn't. I remember one time Ocelote picked LeBlanc and Snoopeh picked Maokai and they went 5 kills before against mid player reached level 6.But Froggen loves the passive,farming gaming which he is a beast at. And we know Maokai's the strongest feature is strong early ganks. It fits with wickd's playstyle and when Krepo picked Leona but otherwise as all viewers saw it fails hard. While Snoopeh playiing Maokai they defeated 4 times and clg.eu was the victor the 3 times. 2 lost were against TSM , 1 against CLG.na and 1 against Orb. I think team shouldnt consist on picking Maokai because it doesnt fit with all team's playstyle. But as i said when Krepo picked Leona, and Wickd picked a damage dealer top, everyone is okay with that imo.
Thirdly, Froggen iss the best ap mid player at the moment imo. But he usually (~%90) got pushed and his turret down before their mid turret. Thats why clghad hard timesto push. Every single time they lost they have to get the mid tower down after 25 minutes which is a comeback, not controlling the game. All the enemy teams afraid of him because he can carry all the teamwith Kog'maw, Ahri or Anivia. But at the first times when AL formed he played Galio, Kennen, Swain which he didnt play lately (anivia too surely). I remember his Galio was a beast which nerfed hard but we all saw xpeke carried big with galio against tsm.evo . I think he should play more Galio. As I mentioned before Froggen used to play Kennen.And I remember he farmed more than 100 minions while he has only have hextech revolver and then carried the game. I know its very upsetting that enemies team bans all your best champions but everyone can see this before so he have to use to that not to be demoralized. And I dont know why he didnt play Morgana which suits for Froggen's playstyle and can to the teamfightswhich Froggen loves to do.Focusing on picking Anivia or Kog'maw they forgot to do it. Btw i learned how to play anivia from you, thanks a lot =)
And lastly about bot lane. What happened guys??? You were the best bot lane but at this tournament you were bad. You couldnt play a single good game against Graves-Taric lane (as i watched, if i missed sorry about that). Yellowpete picked Corki mostly (10 times) which has aearly burst damage and a great duo with Leona which Krepo can play very well. But as we saw at the whole tournament ad carries with strong steroids carred all games (check tristana at tsm.evo-fanatic series). I know Corki is the yellowpete's favorite but as we see corki didnt make differences. Like Snoopeh's insinsting on Maokai, Yellowpete shouldnt consint on Corki.
Early Game
CLG.eu mostly failed against level 1 jungle invades. They rarely have the strong level 1 team composition so their jungle was open to invades (picking Maokai ...).European teams usually dont like to go level 1 jungle fights but NA teams love it. So they had to work on it but they failed (remember first game TSM, Snoopeh played Maokai and for the all game he didnt able to give blue buff to Froggen's Kog'maw) .
Other problem was mostly enemy teams camped Wickd for prevent his super snowball. Which is very predictable but Snoopeh couldnt able to help him about that unless he picked Nocturne. Snoopeh should gank bot and mid more because losing top but winning bot,mid and their jungler is a better option. I don't remember he ganked top and mid that much and Froggen was the stealing wraiths but snoopeh didit very very rarely. Krepo loves aggression at the early laning phase.But they lost all the damage trades because enemy team always had soraka or taric-graves which they lost all damage trades.Without jungle pressure on and loosing early damage trades no one shouldnt except the clg dominating bot lane (which they lost ~%80)
Mid Game
I loves the idea when Snoopeh brought to game "Early Jungler Oracles" . He stopped to that! Dude, come on! You teached every junglers in the and he gave up to do this. And because this Krepo has to buy Oracle which cant gain money because of losing lane and get assist it makes everything hard. Krepo could buy Oracle after 20 minutes which gives great advantages Because enemy team with early oracle always cleared dragon wardsand aggressive wards at the their jungle.
CLG.eu had to learn doing early dragons. They %90 times goes for dragon after 12-13 minutes. They need to do this early because they dont get turrets down early they cant get global gold which enemies get. And when Wickd comes for dragon they waste so much time and Wickd loses his turret and it makes everything harder to get turrets down.
mid-late game
This time zone is the CLG.eu's best playtime. Because Froggen leads goldagainst enemy mid player,Wickd plays perfectly at this time, Krepo's ward are always enough for every teamfights despite enemy oracle. BUT clg.eu never able to fight at this moments. Because they usually lost their first turrets except mid turret and couldnt destroy the mid tower. So enemy team has the teamfight control at this time. Usually Krepo had only shurelia's (if he was lucky) and a heart of gold becaause have to buy oracle but cant get gold from lane kills. And he is usually too behind at levels cause of this.
And finally despite they can play very well this mid-late game they usually dont have the enough damage output. They usually had to defend turrets while cant farm and they are afraid of going for teamfight because teamfights usually go like 2 for 2 or 3 for 3.These fights cant be gamebreaking fights for clg.eu . Because they choise to farm, try to get baron 5 times instead of pushing turrets, or stealing enemy jungle. They have to push TURRETS!!! You cant win every game with enemy team's surrender. You're the best ones you should know this. This isn't go4lol, this is a big tournament which gives you circuit points! And a big problem i notice is 2 randuin's omen.Wickd and Snoopeh are playing tanky champions which have a great harmony but instead of buying 2 randuin'syou could buy which had to buy from poor Krepo.
Late Game Actually there aren't too much to say. Because Froggen became very fed and if he doesnt fail (like 3rd game against tsm, walling out krepo and karthus ulti against 3rd game against CLG.na) he carries. So team have to keep his morale up because he can be easily demotivated which effects his gameplay.
This will be all i say for the last tournament. I did this for helping CLG.eu not for assault them. I love all of you guys, i cheered you all time, watched your streams all the time.I even get upset when you were practising and non streaming. I hope these feedbacks will help you. Good luck at the later stages.
